This cracks me up. What's your mood today?

Charm School Dropout

Monday, July 26, 2010

This photographer/artist considers herself a "charm school dropout extraordinaire" and this series of images is her "revenge" on the undesired attempt to become ladylike as she notes, "after all... 'well behaved women rarely make history.'" Check out her series, "Charmed, I'm Sure."

a lady always practices good posture

Wedding Bee

The wedding was bee-autiful! Here's a little treat for the guests. Her colors were honey and wheat...

Short Story Weekend

Friday, July 23, 2010

Hello lovelies! I have a very busy weekend ahead and to share it with you, I am going to tell it to you with images and a short story. Enjoy!
Once upon the present time, two young souls decided to get engaged and have a wedding on a Sunday in July...
Kristen, with a skip in her step and excitement for the couple, one of them being her cousin, will take part in this lovely event. With her family, she will travel over to her grandparent's lake house for the weekend stay.
On Saturday morning at early a.m., the giddy wedding party (girls only) will come and feast at the bride's pancake brunch on the lake with the amazing chef's — the bride's dad and the bride's future father-in-law.
Later on in the day, while the wedding party is rehearsing, Kristen and her sisters will head over to the fancy steakhouse in town to set up for the party honoring the couple. Kristen is overjoyed to be taking part in this lavish meal even though she is not directly involved in the wedding! ;)
Day two will be filled with another brunch with her other grandmother and family and relaxation before the day's big event.
Dress on and smile in place, Kristen will head over to the ceremony being held at Ashton Gardens in Houston. Kristen had the privilege of shooting a wedding a couple years ago at this very location. Many memories!
With this fun couple, there's no doubt a blast of a reception will be in place. Kristen looks forward to cake and dancing!
Activities, hosting responsibilities, and goodbyes in place, Kristen and her sister will head off to their apartment in Dallas for a good night's rest until the Monday workday arrives with a bang!

And that's my weekend! Hope you all have a fantastic one!!

DC Cupcakes

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Raise your hand if you can't get enough of cupcakes (I sure can't)! Cupcakes are the new black, right ;)

I watched this fun show called DC Cupcakes on TLC that follows two sisters, Sophie LaMontagne and Katherine Kallinis, on their new business venture, Georgetown Cupcake. I have to say their product looks mighty delicious and their signature — the icing swirl — adds a unique touch to each cake. It's a good one!

Warning: video includes images your taste buds may not be able to handle!

Thumbelina Shower

Friday, July 16, 2010

Have you visited Green Wedding Shoes? Such a fun and lovely site for all things wedding related. I love looking at wedding blogs, and while I have not had my day yet, I am prepared with loads of inspiration should God decide to place that special someone in my life ;)

This bridal shower idea is inspired by the childhood story, Thumbelina! So magical don't you think?

Splash of Color

Thursday, July 15, 2010

I was truly inspired by the artist Josef Frank who is featured on the Google homepage today for his 125th birthday! I love the use of COLOR in his designs! And one of my favorite stores uses his designs in their upholstery :) Enjoy the many colors...
